Business Central Magento integration for orders, stock and prices
A Business Central Magento integration keeps your store and your ERP telling the same story. That covers what you sell, how many are free, what each customer pays and where each order stands. We connect Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce to Business Central. So web orders arrive as sales orders, and shoppers see stock that is real.

What a Business Central Magento integration synchronizes
Business Central is the source for items, stock and prices. Magento is the source for web orders and new web customers. The link moves each record type in one agreed direction. So the two systems never argue over a quantity or a price.
Orders come down with their lines, shipping method, tax and payment reference. Once the warehouse ships, the posted shipment and tracking number go back up. Then Magento emails the customer. The invoice is made on the ERP side, where revenue is recognized. Each step updates the other side.

Matching the Magento catalog to Business Central items
Magento has simple, configurable, bundle and grouped products. Business Central has items, item variants, assembly BOMs and item attributes. The two models do not line up one to one. So deciding how they match is the first real design question on every project. We treat it that way.
A configurable product with sizes and colors usually becomes one item with variants. Or it becomes a set of items that share an attribute. A bundle often maps to an assembly BOM. We settle this with your merchandising team before any data moves. Changing it later means rebuilding the catalog link.

How we deliver a Business Central Magento integration
Unlike Shopify, Magento has no connector built into Business Central. We make the link through the Magento REST API. We use an AppSource connector, an integration platform or a custom AL extension. First, we weigh your order volume, your B2B needs and how much custom code the store already has. Then we recommend a route.
We build against a staging store and a Business Central sandbox. Then we replay a sample of real past orders. These include guest checkouts, discounts, partial shipments and returns. Go-live happens in stages. Stock and prices come first, then orders. That way, each flow is tested before the next one starts.

- ✓Staged go-live by flow
- ✓Monitoring handover
Customer-specific prices and B2B accounts
Trade buyers expect to see their own prices and pay on terms. You can publish Business Central sales price lists, customer price groups and line discounts to Magento customer groups or shared catalogs. So a logged-in buyer sees the same figure that the sales desk would quote.
Orders placed on account skip the card step. They arrive against the existing customer record, and the credit limit check in Business Central applies. A company account with several buyers maps to one customer with contacts. That keeps statements and aging in one place. Sales staff see web orders too.

- ✓Multiple buyers per account
- ✓Quote requests to sales
Problems we plan for
Overselling is the classic failure. It comes from pushing on-hand quantity instead of what is truly free after reservations and open orders. It can also come from syncing too rarely during a promotion. So we publish a calculated available figure. Then we set the schedule to suit your busiest hour.
Tax is the other trap. Magento works out tax at checkout. Business Central works it out again on the sales order. A rounding gap then leaves invoices a cent apart from the payment. So we decide which system owns the tax amount. Then we carry that number across untouched.
Avoid the common traps →- ✓Overselling during promotions
- ✓Tax rounding differences
- ✓Duplicate web customers
- ✓Orders stuck in error
- ✓Store upgrades breaking sync
Business Central Magento integration questions
Does a Business Central Magento integration work with Adobe Commerce as well as Magento Open Source?
Yes. Both editions share the same core API. Adobe Commerce adds B2B features such as company accounts and shared catalogs. We design for the edition you run and the extensions on it, because those shape which endpoints are open. Then we test the whole flow on a staging store before go-live.
How often does inventory update on the store?
You can set that. Many stores send stock changes every few minutes through the job queue. They also push an item at once if it drops below a set level. We tune the pace to your order volume. That way, the store stays accurate, and neither system gets flooded with updates.
What happens to an order that fails to import?
It waits in a queue with a plain error message. Examples are an unknown item number or a missing shipping agent link. A user fixes the cause and retries from a Business Central page. Nothing is dropped, and nothing is imported twice. We also add an alert, so someone sees a stuck order quickly.
Can returns started in Magento reach Business Central?
Yes. A return request or credit memo in Magento can create a sales return order in Business Central. So the warehouse receives the goods against a document. The refund then posts against the original invoice, with the right stock adjustment. We test this flow with real returns from your store.
Do we need to replace our existing Magento extensions?
Usually not. We list the extensions that change orders, stock or checkout. Then we test the Business Central Magento integration next to them. Once in a while, one clashes with the API. It then needs a setting change or a small patch. We flag that early, so it never surprises you at go-live.
