See a Business Central demo that follows your working day

A Business Central demo should answer one question: would this system handle the way we work? We run live sessions by screen share. A consultant takes your own scenarios through the product, such as a quote becoming an order or a month-end close. You see real pages and ask questions as they come up. You leave with a clear list of fits and gaps.

🎯What to expect

What a useful Business Central demo looks like

A generic tour of menus tells you very little. A useful session follows one transaction from start to finish. It runs in the order your people would handle it. It shows where you enter information once and reuse it. And it stops whenever someone says, "that is not how we do it." Those moments are the most valuable part.

We use Microsoft's Cronus demonstration company. We adjust it with items, customers and terms that look like yours. It is a working system, not slides. Say something cannot be done in standard Business Central. Then we tell you during the session. We also explain whether setup, an add-on or an extension would close the gap.

How we prepare your Business Central demo

Preparation starts with a short talk about your business. What do you sell? How do orders arrive? How does stock move, and how do you bill? What reports do the owners expect? From that, we pick a handful of scenarios worth showing. We also agree who should attend each part, so nobody sits through topics that do not concern them.

Can you share a sample price list, a typical order or a report you rely on? Then we build the example around it. A familiar customer name and product on screen makes the comparison with your current system far easier. Invented data for a business unlike yours does not help.

Areas a Business Central demo usually covers

Finance people tend to ask for the general ledger, dimensions, bank reconciliation, payables and the financial reporting pages. Operations teams want sales and purchase orders and item availability. They also want warehouse moves. On the Premium license, they ask about production orders and service. We shape the agenda to the audience. We do not show every module.

Most groups also want to see how Business Central works with Microsoft tools they already use. That includes editing a list in Excel and publishing it back, and creating a quote from an email in Outlook. It also includes sharing a record in Teams and reading embedded Power BI charts. Finally, they ask about the Copilot features that draft text or suggest bank matches.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Who attends

Who should join a Business Central demo

A system chosen by one department and imposed on the rest starts badly. So we suggest inviting the people who do the daily work, alongside the decision makers. That means the person who enters orders, the person who pays vendors and whoever runs the warehouse. Their questions are specific. Their early confidence matters more than any feature list.

Long single sessions lose attention. So we often split the material into shorter meetings by area. Finance sees finance, and operations sees operations. Leadership joins a summary at the end. You can also share recordings internally, so colleagues who could not attend can catch up.

What happens after the Business Central demo

After the last session, we send a written summary. It lists what fitted as standard, what needs setup, and what would need an add-on or custom work. The summary is a starting point for a fit-gap analysis. Think of it as notes, not a proposal. You keep it, whichever partner you choose.

Is one requirement in real doubt? Then a proof of concept on your own data is the sensible next step. Do you want hands-on time first? Microsoft offers a free trial you can explore alone. We can point you to both and answer questions as you go. Microsoft publishes license details on its own site.

Questions

Business Central demo questions buyers ask

How do we arrange a session?

Contact us with a few lines about your business and what you want to see. We follow up with a short call. On that call, we agree the scenarios and the attendees. Then we schedule the sessions by screen share during US business hours. So you only need to tell us what matters most to your team.

Can we see our own data in the demo?

We can load a small sample, such as a few customers and items, into the demonstration company. That way the examples look familiar. Loading full data sets and testing one requirement in depth belongs in a proof of concept. We explain the difference up front, so you know what a Business Central demo can and cannot show.

What is the difference between a demo and the free trial?

The trial is self-service. Microsoft gives you an environment to explore alone. A guided session has a consultant who steers through your scenarios and answers questions live. Many buyers do both. They start with a guided session, so the trial makes more sense. Then they explore on their own with a clear list of questions.

Will you show Essentials or Premium?

We show whichever matches your needs. Essentials covers finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehousing and projects. Premium adds manufacturing and service management. If you make products or run field service, we show the Premium features. We also explain which users would need them, so the license picture is clear.

Do you show third-party add-ons too?

When a requirement clearly needs one, yes. Or we arrange for the publisher to present it. We keep that apart from the standard product. That way you always know which features come from Microsoft and which carry an extra subscription. You then compare the real choices when you plan your Business Central demo follow-up.
