Where does a Business Central consultant for Oklahoma companies begin?
We begin with a fit assessment, not a demo. Over a few video sessions, we walk through how you quote, do, ticket and invoice a job today. We also look for places where you type the same data twice. The result is a short document that lists what standard Business Central covers and what needs an extension.
Everything runs by video call and screen share. Our team works from Phoenix, and Oklahoma is on Central time, so we book sessions in your zone during US business hours. Field-heavy firms often have managers who are rarely at a desk. So we keep sessions short and record them for later.

Field tickets for Oklahoma oilfield service firms
Oklahoma has produced oil and gas for well over a century. Service companies in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and the smaller oil towns do the drilling support, pumping, hauling and rental work. They bill from field tickets that combine crew time, equipment use, mileage and consumables.
For oilfield work, we treat each well or work order as a project. Crews and units are resources with rates, and a truck or yard location issues the consumables. The project journal captures the ticket, and the invoice comes from it. You keep customer price agreements on each project. For mobile ticket capture with signatures, you add an add-on.
Discuss field ticket billing →- ✓Project per well or order
- ✓Crew and unit rates
- ✓Yard and truck stock
- ✓Project journal from tickets
- ✓Agreed prices per operator
Aircraft maintenance and aerospace in Tulsa and Oklahoma City
Both of the state's large cities are long-standing centers for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. A repair shop gets a customer's component, inspects it and quotes the work. Next, it swaps in parts that carry their own certificates. Finally, it returns the unit with paperwork that shows what was done and by whom.
Service orders in the Premium license follow that pattern. You get a service item for each unit received, a quote, then repair lines for parts and labor. Serial and lot tracking tie replaced parts to their source documents. But airworthiness release forms and regulatory sign-off belong in a dedicated maintenance system. We connect it where needed.
Plan repair order flow →- ✓Service item per unit received
- ✓Quotes before repair
- ✓Traceable parts by serial
- ✓Labor against the order

Wind power, cattle and wheat
The plains of western Oklahoma hold some of the country's largest wind farms. Yet the same land raises cattle and winter wheat. Firms that build and maintain turbines work on long contracts. They bill by milestone and use a lot of subcontracted labor on each site.
Projects with billing schedules and subcontractor purchase orders linked to tasks cover that. For ranch and farm suppliers, the needs differ. They buy feed and seed in bulk units, and customers settle accounts after they sell stock or harvest. Many also run several small stores. Locations, transfer orders and customer payment terms handle all of this with standard features.
Talk about long contracts →- ✓Milestone billing schedules
- ✓Subcontract orders by task
- ✓Bulk feed and seed units
- ✓Post-harvest payment terms
- ✓Transfers between stores
What Oklahoma owners expect from Business Central reports
Energy is cyclical, so Oklahoma owners want to know fast whether a job, a crew or a yard makes money. That is a reporting question as much as a system one. We design dimensions for district, service line and customer type at the start. They are hard to add after the fact.
Financial reports then show an income statement for each district. Power BI shows how busy units and crews are. When work slows, the same data shows which equipment sits idle and what it costs to keep. Multi-entity groups also get consolidation and intercompany postings.
See your numbers clearly →- ✓Income statement per district
- ✓Utilization of crews
- ✓Idle equipment cost
- ✓Service line margins
- ✓Consolidated group results
Business Central in Oklahoma: questions we are asked
Is your office in Oklahoma City or Tulsa?
No. Our Business Central team works from our office at 217 N Central Ave in Phoenix, Arizona. We are part of Sataware Technologies, headquartered in Woodbury, Minnesota, with a development team in India. Oklahoma City and Tulsa each have their own page here with more local detail. Sessions run on Central time by screen share, and we record them so your field managers can watch when they are back at a desk. For an in-person meeting, contact us to arrange one.
Can Business Central handle oil and gas accounting such as joint interest billing?
Not in the standard product. Joint interest billing, revenue distribution and division orders are specialist jobs for operators, and industry extensions cover them. Oilfield service companies bill for work done, so they fit standard projects and resources much more directly. We tell you early which group you belong to, so you pick the right tools.
How do field tickets get into the system?
Your office can key them into a project journal. You can also import them from a spreadsheet, or capture them on a tablet through a field app that posts to the project. The right choice depends on signal at your sites and on how customers sign tickets. We test the options with a few real tickets, then you decide.
Does Business Central track rental equipment sent to a well site?
Simple cases can use resources billed by the day through the project. Rental fleets with availability, delivery and return checks run better in a rental extension. It adds contracts and unit status on top of fixed assets. So we first look at how large your fleet is and how often units move, then we advise.
Can we set up dimensions later if we are unsure now?
You can add dimensions later, but history posted without them will not carry the values. So we hold a short workshop to settle the two global dimensions and the shortcut dimensions before you load any transactions. That avoids rework. It also means your first reports already show district and service line.
