👤The model

Hire a Business Central consultant, not just a contractor

Your consultant is your single point of contact. They learn your processes and keep your configuration notes. They also attend your meetings. In short, they own the outcome, the way an in-house system owner would.

Behind them sit functional specialists in finance and supply chain, plus AL developers. So when your consultant needs a custom extension, a Power BI model or an integration, the right specialist joins the work. You keep one lead and gain the depth of a team.

🧭Good reasons

When a dedicated Business Central consultant beats a staff hire

Finding a full-time Business Central administrator is slow. Besides, one person rarely covers finance, operations and development well. A dedicated consultant gives you that range. You can also scale up for a project and back down after it ends.

It also removes the risk of all your system knowledge leaving with one employee. We document notes, setup decisions and extensions, and we share them across the team. That way, a vacation or a resignation does not leave your system without an owner.

Skills a dedicated Business Central consultant brings

Our consultants work across finance and multi-entity accounting, sales and purchasing, inventory and warehouses, manufacturing and projects. Developers write AL extensions, APIs and report layouts. Our reporting people build Power BI models.

Because they sit on one team, one group can answer a question that crosses areas. For example, why does inventory value not tie to the ledger? People who understand both sides answer it, so you do not bounce between suppliers.

How you hire a Business Central consultant and start

We start with a short discovery call and a look at your current system. From that, we propose how involved we should be and who sits on your team. We also show how you raise and track requests. Sataware answers pricing questions on a call.

The work stays visible. You see what is open, what we finished and what comes next. Your consultant also meets you on a regular rhythm to agree on priorities. So nothing surprises you at the end of the month.

⚖The difference

Consultant team or freelancer: how they compare

A good freelancer can be excellent. Even so, vacations, illness and a full calendar all land on you. With a team, your consultant has backup who already knows your notes. Specialist questions do not wait for someone outside to become free.

You keep the continuity of one person and gain the depth of several, under one agreement. That also means one invoice and one place to ask. If you plan to hire a Business Central consultant, this is the main reason to choose a team.

Questions

Questions before you hire a consultant for Business Central

How do I hire a Business Central consultant?

Book a discovery call. We learn what you need and look at your current setup. Then we propose a named consultant and the right level of involvement. Ask for a scoped proposal, and Sataware answers pricing questions on the call. After that, your consultant begins with a short look at your notes, your open issues and your next deadline. So the work starts with what matters most to you.

Where is the consultant team based?

Our Business Central team works from our office at 217 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004. We are part of Sataware Technologies, headquartered in Woodbury, Minnesota, with a development team in India. Your lead works with you by video call and screen share in US business hours, Monday to Friday, scheduled in your time zone. For an in-person meeting, contact us to arrange one.

Can we scale the engagement up for a project?

Yes. Extra functional or development people join for the project and step back afterwards. Your named consultant stays as the lead the whole time. So you keep one voice to talk to, and the added people already know your notes. When the project ends, the engagement returns to its normal size without a new contract.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, on request, before we look at your system or data. Just ask on the discovery call. We then sign before any screen share that shows your records. That protects both sides. It also lets your team speak freely about processes and customers.

Can we take over the work ourselves later?

Yes. We document everything as we go. When you are ready, we can train an internal person to take over system ownership. We hand over your notes, your setup decisions and your extensions. So you never stay tied to us by missing knowledge. Some companies prefer to keep a consultant, and the choice is yours.
